summertime and the livin' is easy...
my love affair with the sun
as far back as I can remember
born a fish
a pisces baby
water is my thing
where I feel most aliveunderwater tea parties
pretending to be a mermaid at the bottom of the pool
jumping off the side of the pool
my toes would bleed
mom would band aid them
I would keep on going
“watch me!”
naming my jumpsthe sunshine was my favorite
I would jump high and spread my little fingers
and arms
opening up
and up
and up
rejoicing in summer
pink lemonade
pimento cheese sandwiches
gingerman cookiessummer solstice
today
we celebrate
we enter the season of summer
and leave behind the old...
patterns
weeds in our garden of life
pledge to our souls
a new direction
a season of joy, energy
use the power of the sun
to *OPEN*
to new beginnings, ideas, passions
connections with kindred spirits
celebrate the power of the sun
be thankful for this life force
of nurture
of nature
of healing energy
watch yourself grow…
And I agree 100% -- I was always happiest in the sunshine and in the water, refusing to come out even though I was purple and shivering, watching my mermaid hair flow out around me in the water.
